The Future of Gas Chromatography
Designed according to the E3 concept
E3 concept: Efficiency, Excellence,
Easy
Efficiency leading to productivity
The new GC-2010 from Shimadzu now offers you the future of gas
chromatography. It is specially designed for Fast GC analysis
providing high productivity through efficient analysis by an
advanced flow control (AFC) of the third generation for high
pressure (970 kPa) and high split ratios as standard, by the
highly sensitive detectors with fast sampling time and the high
power oven and high speed cooling capability. Thus it can double
or even triple the productivity of conventional instruments.
Excellent analysis results
It features excellent performance in reproducibility of data by
the newly developed injection system (even for solvents with
large vapor volumes such as acetone) and highly sensitive detectors
which support a wide range of applications. All detectors are
conveniently located just inside the top cover. A new flame photometric
detector (FPD) provides 4 to 5 times more sensitivity than conventional
modes. The ECD delivers ultra-high sensitivity at 8 fg/s -BHT
(Lindan).
Easy operation and Intelligent System Suitability Functions
Operation is made easy by the large LCD screen integrated which
shows the chromatogram and the analysis parameters thus enabling
users of all levels to easily set up and operate the system.
The self-diagnosis functionality of the GC-2010 can maximize
uptime of the GC system and provides documentation for validation
purposes. Self-diagnosis functions include: septum and insert
condition, temperature sensor check, DC voltage and AD converter.
For validation purposes a log function records the history of
the instrument and operational conditions including deviation
from set parameters, changes of parameter settings and errors.
The brand-new GC-2010 introduces the
E3 concept of Efficiency, Excellence and Ease of use to GC. Including
all the features necessary for modern ultra-fast GC (fast linear
temperature ramps, fast cooling and fast detector response), the
GC-2010 gives typical CVs of 0.34%, obtained by use of CPU-controlled
constant linear velocity mode, which compensates for increased
gas viscosity at high temperatures. Redesigned detectors give improved
sensitivity and a large, easy-to-see and easy-to-use LCD reduces
operator training and programming times.
FID (Flame Ionisation Detector)
Further improvements give Shimadzus wide dynamic range (107),
low noise FID an even lower detection limit of 3 pg C/s (Dodecane)
FPD (Flame Photometric Detector)
Operating up to 350°C, with detection limits 4-5 times higher
than before of 4 pg S/s (Dodecanethiol) and 0.2 pg P/s (tributylphospate)
TCD (Thermal Conductivity Detector)
A wide-dynamic range of 105 with a high sensitivity
of 20000 mV.ml/mg for Decane.
ECD (Electron capture Detector)
A wide dynamic range (104) detector with ultra-low detection
limit of 8 fg/s for -BHC
FTD (Flame Thermionic Detector also
know as NPD/TSD)
Detection limits of 0.2 pg N/s (azobenzene) and 30 fg P/s (maration)
and a constant dynamic range of 104 for both Nitrogen
and Phosphorous.
