Achievements
In 1875, Genzo Shimadzu started the company in Kyoto, Japan making physical and chemical instruments. It has since become a truly global corporation with interests in developing and manufacturing medical, scientific and aerospace instruments and now has its own research facility. From making storage batteries in 1917, the company's achievements include many 'Firsts' for Japan, including the development of:
