Shimadzu UK’s Materials Returns Policy and Procedures.
Do you need to return materials to Shimadzu?
Shimadzu UK wants you to be completely satisfied with your purchases however from time to time there will be reasons, including but not limited to damage on arrival, incorrect part ordered, incorrect quantity ordered etc. why some goods will need to be returned to Shimadzu UK for a refund, for replacement or for credit.
Our Customer Support Centre will guide you through our Returns Policy and Procedures, just call 08708 375209 for assistance. If you have access to our web site (www.shimadzu.co.uk) then our returns procedure and printable Returns Authorisation Note can be found very easily.
The purpose of this procedure is to identify the most common reasons for you wishing to return goods or materials to Shimadzu UK and to address each of those events with a procedure to help us support you to achieve this with minimum effort.
These materials return procedures will not affect and are in addition to your statutory rights.
Incorrectly ordered goods.
In the event that you have mistakenly ordered the wrong product(s), Shimadzu UK will refund the cost of the goods less the initial delivery charge and a restocking fee of either £25 or 10% of the shipment value, whichever is the greater. For any refund to be made, the goods must be received back by Shimadzu UK in their original packing and in a re-saleable condition.
The cost of returning the goods to Shimadzu UK shall be paid by you and will not be refunded.
Shimadzu UK is unable to refund the value of goods that have been removed from their original packaging or any item that is not in its original condition (is damaged or used). It is your responsibility to check that the correct goods have been received before unwrapping goods supplied by Shimadzu UK.
All goods that are being returned must be re-packed to the same standard of protection as when you received them, and must be returned within 14 days. Returned goods received after 14 days or that are damaged in transit due to poor packaging will not be refunded, and will be returned to you.
Material Incompatibility
Goods that appear not to work with particular hardware, firmware or software configurations are often defined as being faulty however this may not be the case. If the supplied goods are proven to be incompatible in any way with your existing Shimadzu equipment configuration and that this is confirmed by a Shimadzu UK Service or Sales Specialist, you may return the goods to Shimadzu UK and you will receive a full refund for the value of the goods at time of purchase.
Damaged Goods and Shortfalls
If our goods arrive at your site in a damaged condition, you must note this on the carrier's delivery note. It is your responsibility to inform Shimadzu UK within 3 days of delivery of any damage or shortages.
Damaged goods claims will be processed by Shimadzu UK within 5 working days of notification, as will shortfalls in supply.
The Returns Procedure
A Returns Authorisation Note (RAN) must accompany all returned goods. This form is available on our web site or can be faxed to you on request.
When you contact us to advise that you wish to return goods you will be issued with an Returns Material Authorisation (RMA) number which should be included on the Returns Authorisation Note and returned with the goods.
The original or a copy of the original Delivery Note should be included with the returned goods and the RAN.
Shimadzu UK requires that you to complete all sections of the RAN including a contact name, address and a daytime telephone number, also the Invoice Number, and a brief description of the situation that needs to be resolved.
Shimadzu UK strongly encouraged you to use registered post or some other means that requires a signature of receipt of the goods at Shimadzu UK’s warehouse or reception.
It is your responsibility to ensure the safe delivery of the goods in the original pack
